Leadership Ste. Genevieve
In 2018 our Chamber of Commerce approved the addition and creation of the Leadership Ste. Genevieve program. In February of 2019 our very first Leadership Ste. Genevieve session took place. 16 participants in the first year. For the next several months, the leadership group will gain valuable knowledge about the Ste. Genevieve businesses. They will cultivate relationships with individuals whom they might not have ever crossed paths with. Besides the added knowledge and education they gain, they formed friendships and business relationships that will continue for years to come.
Why? Professional development is vital to our community, and it’s a natural fit for the Chamber to take the lead in organizing these opportunities for area professionals. If a professional isn’t growing then they are stagnating. When a professional grows, businesses grow and when businesses grow the community benefits. We believe every business and organization should be intentional in investing in its employees, and we hope to see participation in the curriculum we’re creating.

Leadership Ste. Genevieve
Engaging Future Community Leaders
Leadership Ste. Gen– a program developed by the Ste. Genevieve Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by community businesses to identify, cultivate and motivate future community leaders. This informative and thought-provoking program introduces participants to the community, exposes them to its challenges and requires them to fully participate in the 8-session curriculum. In addition, Ste. Gen Leadership would provide a strategic curriculum to enhance participants’ leadership skills and creates a dialogue for discussion on relevant topics and assessment of case studies, ultimately supporting the Chamber’s strategic initiatives and goals. Anyone who has a genuine interest in community leadership and wants to broaden their scope of knowledge beyond their current level is encouraged to apply to Leadership Ste. Genevieve.
Each month a different form of leadership would be planned and provided to each participate. Once a participate registers, they must complete the entire 8 month leadership program to become a leadership graduate. The 8th month, there will be a leadership ceremony and certificates will be issued to those who completed all 8 months.

Dena Kreitler
Executive Director, Ste. Genevieve Chamber of Commerce
``Our dream is that Leadership Ste. Gen will bring the Chamber and our business community to another level. It’s really all about connection: helping people understand how our community runs and connecting people to each other so that we can do even more amazing things together.``
Training Courses & Webinars
In 2016 we partnered with the Ste. Genevieve High School Business Department to offer classes in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Photoshop. We plan to collaborate with the Business Department more this year to offer additional learning opportunities. Watch our blog and calendar of events for announcements later this year.
Facility Tours
We have facility tours at least once a year that are open to our entire membership. We believe that getting inside each others businesses especially those that we can’t just walk into on a whim (i.e. industrial businesses) helps us better understand the economy here and empowers our members to have informed conversations in the community. If there is more interest, we’d be open to planning more than one of these a year, so let us know if this is something you’d like to participate in!
General Chamber Events
A quick way to invest in your professional development is to attend any chamber event. Each event is a unique opportunity to network with other professionals in the Ste. Genevieve area. At our quarterly membership meetings we also strive to have a short talk or program to give our members an opportunity to learn about relative news and events in our area.
